We all want something different from a one to one session, whether it is simply giving it a go or creating a tea set, I want to be able to let you get the most from these sessions as possible.

In the one to one sessions you will have the tutors full attention and guidance to help best create some wonderful pottery.

So I have come up with a build your own course.

There are three skill sessions Throwing, Turning and Glazing and you can pick however many sessions of each one you would like creating a series of weekly sessions to build an experience you are really happy with.

Example course

Beginner - I would suggest 1x throwing session 1x turning session and 1x glazing session over 3 weeks. = £190

Time on the wheel - I would suggest 2 x throwing sessions 1x turning session and 1x glazing session over 4 weeks = £260

Skill Sessions

Throwing 2 hrs - £70

This is the process of making pottery on the wheel.

- Learn how to wedge clay which is essential for a good pot

- Demo on the wheel

- Time spent throwing

- Troubleshooting and going through how to achieve the shapes you want to make

Turning 2 hrs - £70

Turning is just as important as throwing and is the process of trimming your pot after it has been left to dry to leather hard.

- Introduction to the tools

- Demo

- Time to turn your pots.

- Applying slip or any decoration at this stage.

- Tips and tricks to clean up your pots ready for firing

Glazing 1hr - £50

(Or the tutor can clear glaze the pots for £20)

- Introduction to glazing

- Time spent glazing

About the tutor

Jessica has been teaching pottery since 2015 and has taught at The Folk House, Mayfield School for girls and has taught online courses with Hot Clays and is a lecturer at Bristol School of Art.

She has her own studio in the centre of Bristol, where the courses will be run.
